LIGHT UP LAUDERDALE

Presented by the Riverwalk Trust and in association with the City of Fort Lauderdale, Light Up Lauderdale is a holiday centric promenade of lights in Riverwalk Park; connecting the cultural, historical and business districts along the New River.  Events run from November 19th-January, 2010.  Join us for the Family Fun Zone every Saturday night, Get Lit Kick Off Party on November 19th and Best in Lights Contest on Dec. 8th.  For more information visit www.goriverwalk.com

Kick off the holidays for the largest Thanksgiving Eve Event at the 16th Annual Cranberry Jam Beach Bash on Ft. Lauderdale Beach. Join the Young Professionals for Covenant House and the Greater Ft. CHRISTMAS ON LAS OLAS - the premiere event on Las Olas Boulevard

A Family Tradition for over 40 Years! Come view the nearly 100 lighted trees and displays adorning the boulevard.  Live entertainment and Christmas Carolers.  Children will love sledding on real snow covering “Snow Mountain” and watching holiday movies on a 30 foot movie screen. And everyone is eager to greet Santa!!  This free-to-the-public extravaganza, now benefits local charities through funds raised at various portions of the festival.  Over 50,000 locals and visitors are on the Boulevard the evening of Christmas on Las Olas.   Many more surprises to come this year! TOYS IN THE SUN RUN

Over 75,000 people and 35,000 motorcycles ride in this motorcycle parade to bring toys to underprivileged children. Beginning at Pompano Harness Track in Pompano Beach and ending with a party at Markham Park in Sunrise  with live music, lots of vendors, an international food court and plenty of cold beer and soda.  The money raised from this event has exceeded $6 million with only asking the bikers for a $10 donation and a new unwrapped toy.  Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation is one of the main beneficiaries and all the toys/donations raised benefit the South Florida community.

HOLIDAY CONCERT featuring FLORIDA'S SINGING SONS – Symphony of Americas

Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Wine Tastings at 7:45 p.m. with the performance at 8:15 p.m. Tickets $35 - $60. Symphony of the Americas is joined by Broward’s own Florida’s Singing Sons Boychoir for melodies that will get everyone in a holiday mood. Sleigh Ride, Sugar Plum Fairies, Jingle Bells, and Hanukkah favorites will leave you wanting more. Pre-concert lecture, strolling lobby entertainment and a pre-concert wine tasting make the evening even more festive! DUCK FEST DERBY- on the New River to benefit Kids in Distress

You won’t want to miss the Duck Derby in Fort Lauderdale on February 27th. This is a family fun event which starts at 1 pm at Esplanade Park on the New River. 25,000 ducks will be released.  This event being supported by Riverwalk Trust and will be the fourth annual Duck Fest Derby for Fort Lauderdale.  Many cities nationally have these races and it is now Fort Lauderdale's turn. The race will start from the Seventh Avenue bridge and end at Esplanade Park with music, food and the typical fun festival festivities.  It's a family fun day with many children's activities along with a VIP party for corporate sponsors. GLAM-A-THON  

Divas don’t hike…they STRUT!

The Glam-A-THON will stage three exciting events to raise awareness and funding for breast cancer research. The first event is the brand new Little Rock Star Play Day from 11a-2p. Kids can find a variety of free activities, crafts and entertainment so they can be a part of the Glam-A-THON excitement, too. Little Rock Star Play Day will be staged in the new grassy park area located on Las Olas Boulevard and SE 8th Avenue.  Our new event name, Glam Doll Strut, brings with it a fierce new attitude…and at 3pm the energy will begin to build on Las Olas Blvd!  South Florida’s fabulous divas (and dudes) bring the sizzle to the Boulevard as our glamorous diva teams assemble in their sassiest stilettos and prettiest pumps for the kick-off of the first-ever Glam Doll Strut to benefit breast cancer initiatives and research at University of Miami Sylvester – Comprehensive Cancer Center.
